We are looking for a qualified Engineering Technician to join our Quality Assurance team in Brewer. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual with a strong eye for detail and a positive team attitude. The ideal candidate holds an Engineering Degree and specializes in Supplier Quality Assurance.

This person will report to the Quality Manager. An important part of this role is to support supplier development by performing PPAP layouts, assisting with supplier sorts, and communicating with suppliers regarding issues. Other responsibilities include helping resolve internal quality issues by working with the production and engineering teams, and support supplier visits when any corrective actions are needed. The ideal candidate will have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; always dedicated to the highest quality standards.

Second Shift Indirect Stock Clerk

Somic America is looking for a Second Shift Indirect Stock Clerk to join our team. Your role would involve maintaining our stockroom, similar to running a small store. You would be receiving and managing materials while maintaining a FIFO (First-In, First-Out) process, shipping parts to vendors for repair, and ensuring adherence to all our stock management protocols. You’re the right fit for us if you’re great at multitasking, comfortable with handling both small and large parts, and have excellent communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Post daily indirect stock issues.
  • Receive, stock, and post indirect material.
  • Maintain FIFO
  • Perform indirect cycle counts.
  • Ship parts for repair to vendors
  • Ensure the preservation and storage of all materials, parts, and supplies
  • Organize and maintain an orderly stockroom
  • Follow company policies and procedures
  • Maintain and provide a safe work area and work in a safe manner.
  • Submit suggestions for improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a solid work ethic and the ability to work in a repetitive, fast-paced environment.
    • Must have the willingness to come to work every day and on time.
    • High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
    • Basic Math skills a must: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures in English.
    • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
    • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
