Somic America is looking for a qualified General Manager of Supply Chain. This high-level management position develops strategy and manages the execution of the entire “life cycle” of the logistics flow. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated leader who is knowledgeable about all aspects of supply chain objectives, initiatives, and policies. 

The ideal candidate has a proven record, having managed a manufacturing business unit at a 200+ member facility for a minimum of 7 years. This role requires the interpersonal skills needed to communicate effectively throughout the organization. The ideal candidate has a strong acumen in purchasing, budgeting, demand planning and manufacturing processes. Additionally, the candidate will be data-driven and have the knowledge to analyze and act on metrics to optimize supply chain systems.

Essential Functions

  • Management of all aspects of Supply Chain to include but not limited to:
    • Fiscal responsibilities
      • Direct/indirect material procurement, ordering & purchasing
      • Finding cost-effective solutions for supply chain processes
      • Budgetary development and management 
    • Oversee supplier development, quality & APQP
    • Create & execute the company’s supply chain strategy
      • Oversee logistics management
      • Evaluate and report on KPIs
      • Ensure supply chain processes meet legal requirements and standards
      • Resolve issues that come up (e.g. delays in delivery, accidents).

Required Experience & Skills

    • Minimum of 7-10 years of managing a manufacturing business unit at a 200+ member facility

  • Education & Certification
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business Preferred
    • Minimum of Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
    • Possesses working knowledge of the following at a 200+ member multi-site manufacturer:
      • Indirect stock process
      • Various supply bases
      • Quality systems administration
      • ERP/MRP systems
      • Requisition management and processing
      • Budgeting process

Location qualifications

  • Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a US passport
  • Must be able to travel for multiple weeks with very short notice
